our story

My name is Emma Louise, and I finally founded MEE & BEE in 2024, several years after first coming up with the idea in my kitchen!

I met my partner Daniel-John in 2014 and he swept me off my feet, it was a fairytale; but little did we know several challenges would come our way... 

After the traumatic birth of our daughter, Maddie-Bee my whole world changed. She sustained an avoidable birth injury whilst being delivered, known as Erbs Palsy and I became her full time carer & physio as well as her mum, which meant I had to leave university where I was training to be an occupational therapist. Daniel-John put his acting career on hold and became the sole breadwinner whilst I focussed on our daughters therapies and hospital appointments.

A couple of tough years went by, and I felt like I had lost my way. I really needed something positive to focus on; and that's when MEE & BEE was founded!

Whilst I was focusing on MEE & BEE Daniel-John was concentrating on his acting career again in the live action movie 'How To Train Your Dragon'. And while he was away fighting dragons! I was developing MEE & BEE and my love for pure & natural candles that enhance mood and wellbeing.

I have always loved candles and how they made me feel, how they are able to create moments in time, and how they can uplift us even on our darkest days. I decided to focus on creating a range of candles that would evoke memories, uplift and enhance moods, and create 'little moments in time'. I worked tirelessly to ensure everything about our products was pure and natural, so that you can relax knowing our candles are not harmful or toxic to you, your home or the planet.

Even during the difficult chapters, we have always tried to make the best of our time together as a family. Finding little moments of happiness, love and laughter. These moments are what we will cherish the most. So when the darkness came in, we created our own light...
